test post, test post!

problem now: not enough icon slots to import all my icons and i don't have a credit card! and unlike a lot of other companies, dreamwidth's reason for not taking paypal is very sound. i guess the answer will probably be a prepaid credit card.

so as i was saying, this particular peridot moment is basically me.

(yes, i'm aware of the contradiction between icon and mood)

adding me without leaving a message, having talked to me before or appearing to have anything in common with me at all = banning! it says so right on my profile page, and i most certainly don't want to talk to anyone who can't even be bothered to read that! go away!

as irritating as downtime due to DDOS attacks was, i have at this point gotten an entire month of free paid time out of it, so i looking back i can't feel really annoyed. i'll still have to pay for the userpic extension, but that's okay. hey attackers, could you maybe make sure to make your next attempt before my paid account runs out? ;)

also, dear whiny permanent account holders: what precisely do you expect LJ to do? add additional free time to the infinite amount you already have? and do you also expect them to give all free accounts free paid account time? because by the logic that it's compensation for inconvenience rather than compensation for services paid for but not able to be used, that's what they should do.

the most you could ask for is compensation on services other than the account itself you paid for, but since nobody is getting that, it's not exactly the bawww unfair you're treating it as.

basically, this this this.

removed quite a few people from my friends list - most, actually - due to either their journals not even being active anymore or us never having talked very much. nothing personal, i just don't see the point of regularly reading the journals of people i don't have much in common with anymore (or never did). and you're not missing out on much if you do want to keep reading (probably not, feel free to also remove me), i can't remember the last time i made a post locked to my friends in general.

i'll also ban the journals that clearly aren't active anymore (as in, not active in several months) just because they make my profile look so untidy, even if i'm the only one who can see it. i'm like that.

(i swear this isn't meant to sound as cold as it does.)

people who add me without notice and without appearing to have anything in common with me will still be banned. especially considering it means they didn't even bother to look at my profile, and i don't want anything to do with people like that. bannity bannity ban.

look, the "adding me without leaving a comment/sending a message, having talked to me before or appearing to have anything in common with me at all = banning. how stupid are you, anyway?" bit on my user info isn't there for aesthetic reasons.

oh hey the front page is back to normal? of course now they'll probably try to pretend they never changed anything in the first place, but whatever. i really don't see the stuff in being all thick-headed and self-righteous about stuff that is no longer a problem.

*gives the finger to ontd* :D

what's up with my front page, LJ? i don't want to see recent posts from random communities i don't give a fuck about. i did like being able to see the most recent comments on my own journal without having to click through to a different page. get rid of this shit, please.

what's up with the weirdos who go around adding journals of people they've never talked to and don't appear to have anything in common with without even leaving a comment or sending a message? i'm not even talking about serial adders, but people with what appears to be genuine personal journals, which they then proceed to give total strangers who don't know or care about them the least bit access to. it's creepy, not to mention just plain stupid.

needless to say, my reaction to that sort of thing is banning.

(and for the record, because that appears to have been the reason at least once, living in roughly the same part of the world doesn't qualify as having something in common.)
