man, the existance of dry coughs alone is evidence enough that humans weren't created by an intelligent god. your throat is irritated and sore because of too much coughing? let's throw some more coughing at it, that's sure to fix it! to the point where just breathing triggers another coughing fit, and coughing up gastric acid, and losing several hours of sleep every night because it's not as if the human body needs rest to heal itself or anything like that! what omniscient, omnipotent being would create something as inefficient as that? (unless it was also horribly malevolent, in which case there would be absolutely no reason to worship it...)

why the fuck did i get a cold in early may in the first place?

(and yeah, it's definitely just a cold. it's also not the first time a cold has done this to me. it never turns into a productive cough either, just keeps on going two steps forward and one step back until it gets bored or something. fuck nature.)

man, i'm actually going to have to take the underground when i go back to school. for one stop. i simply can't walk even that far, and waiting until i can isn't viable. -_- time to check what short distance tickets cost, i guess...

wake up, think "hey my foot feels pretty good, am i really still justified in staying home?", climb down from loft bed and walk to bathroom, oh yeah i am. hey self, it stopped hurting when there wasn't any weight on it several days ago, that has nothing to do with what it's going to do when i walk...

-_-

i (partially) fractured my left big toe, hooray! that kind of explains why i can't bear to put much weight on the front of my foot! and they could've noticed this right in the hospital if they'd just taken a look at the way i walked and concluded that they should probably also take an x-ray of the front of the foot, not just the middle and the ankle. how marvelously competent.

also mostly unrelatedly i'm apparently going to need inserts for slightly flat feet, yay.

needless to say, i'm going to stay home for a couple more days. they wanted to immediately give me the whole week, i asked for just monday to wednesday. of course that was before i learned about the toe. might as well have said "nah fuck that make it the whole week" after that. what am i going to gain from two days when i've already missed the first three, anyway.

foot's improved some (read: can walk a little witout wanting to scream) but still hurts some and can't take full weight, which causes right calf and left lower back to also hurt because of unbalanced gait. probably could get another sick note if i wanted, probably should, but will have a problem if i miss too many days, both in terms of "will miss too much material" and in terms of "they won't let me take the final exam if i've missed more than 10%". ugh.

uugh and they told me at the hospital that nothing was seriously wrong meaning i could go home. bitch, i had to call my father to come pick me up (and i was incredibly lucky to have a pay phone that took coins right there), and even with his help and a crutch he brought with him, i had extreme trouble getting to the next bus stop and then home from the bus stop i needed. they didn't even look at the way i walked or anything! or they would've seen that i have an amazing limp because putting any weight whatsoever on my foot is so painful and i end up only able to take tiny steps with it! i definitely need to get an orthopaedist to look at this, i need some way to stabilise this more than a simple bandage can, and prefarably some prescription painkillers (i mean, they must know i will just take more non-prescription ones otherwise, might as well give me something less likely to cause harm...). otherwise i'm not going anywhere. no way i'm going to school even with the normally silly approach of taking the underground for a single stop when i currently find it hard to get to the toilet and there's still a couple hundred meters of walking involved.

you know what's really great? remember how i have a loft bed? yeah. regular stairs surprisingly don't give me much trouble, but ladders...

(no i will not stop calling people "bitch". or "cunt", for that matter. i've simply expanded its usage beyond the female gender. this is my contribution to equality.)

seriously, what the hell has been up with my left foot. there's a stinging pain behind the arch every time i roll off the heel, which means i end up puting as much weight as possible on my right foot instead, which means that it doesn't take long until that also hurts too much to walk normally. and i don't even know what caused it, i didn't trip or fall or anything. can't go to a doctor either because they'd likely just give me diclofenac salve and a bandage, which i already have, and offer to write me a sick note, which i can't afford because i'd miss too much stuff i really need to practice. (nor do i even really need it, i spend all day sitting down anyway. it's just getting to the place where i need to sit down in the first place that's the problem.)

~*love your body*~ my ass. it's a worthless malfunctioning piece of shit that deserves every bit of hate i'm capable of. "love" implies that i wouldn't trade it in for a new one this instant if that was a thing that was possible. you bet i would. i deserve so much better than this shitheap.

to be honest, from my point of view the show doesn't even conclusively show that pearl and rose quartz actually ever had any kind of relationship and that pearl didn't mostly just pine uselessly for thousands of years

(bear in mind that my point of view is largely "god romance is boring, let's just not even notice most instances of it existing")

and now for something completely different, goddamnit that rib hurts, getting that looked into tomorrow, i wouldn't do anyone a favour by going to school like this

oh come on body, no, i don't want to go back to school, but i definitely don't want whatever my ribcage is doing. the right side, more or less precisely where an underwire would sit. it hurts! and when i cough it hurts like fucking hell! and guess what i'm still doing quite a bit of after already dragging around the same stupid cold for the last two weeks! it seemed like it'd already cleared up almost completely too, but nooo.

~*love your body*~ my ass. no, it's a literal shitsack.

interests: breaking out of this ridiculous cycle of "don't want to be awake because in too much pain, can't stay asleep because in too much pain"

i mean seriously, i was absolutely fine on sunday, then on monday i was suddenly very much not fine? ??? and you know, there's a limit to how many painkillers i can/should consume...

Dec. 22nd, 2015 01:17 am

is it really absolutely necessary for inhaling to suddenly be painful? like, sharp burning pain in my throat and decisively threatening to spread further down? i'm on vacation, this is supposed to be my time to relax! i was fine yesterday! and i have this awful dull headache too. i swear to god, if i got this thanks to the incompetent asshole dragging himself to school despite, according to his own reports, getting nightly coughing fits bad enough to keep him from sleeping properly... come on, you're utterly screwed with basically no chance of making it through the final exams anyway, a day or two more will not magically save your ass, just give up and stop fucking things over for everyone else...

unrelated breaking news, the terminuses of the U9 are now called "osloer straße" and "not osloer straße". this is a step up from me not even remembering that the U9 exists. you're welcome

ugh damnit i still have to get an attestation from a sports physician stating i can't fully participate in PE and shouldn't receive a grade. i've already got one from a pneumologist, and the teacher accepted that for the last semester, but technically speaking it always has to be from a sports physician, even though those are orthopaedists with an additional qualification and there's obviously reasons someone might not be able to fully participate in sports that have nothing to do with orthopaedic problems...

(just watch whoever i go see tell me that it's not their job to give me an attestation for precisely that reason)

and of course now that i know regular low shank feet fit on my machine just fine, i'm all over the entire world of old singer attachments and feet. i've got a ruffler, pintucker, multi-slot binder, adjustable hemmer and edgestitcher on their way. i can't really justify any of them except possibly the edgestitcher because that's an improvement on a purely mechanical problem, but i'm so curious about the way they work! at least i'm holding out on stuff that'd be really obviously nonsensical because my machine already does them by itself, like zigzaggers or blind hemmers...

oh, i could use an invisible zipper foot though. and that's not even a cool obscure vintage gadget. can't believe i don't own one already.

in other news, i think my shoulder is improving on its own. i can lift my head and my arm without pain now, it just still hurts when i turn my neck. and i've got some diclofenac gel for that. yay for modern medicine.

and hey did i mention i had to leave work early yesterday because with the combination of the current weather and an unusually heavy period, my body just sort of gave in. i didn't even want to because yay, air conditioning. i mean, it was obviously still warm enough in there for my body to disagree with, but not as warm as outside...

ugh, woke up with an awful migraine in the middle of the night. stinging, throbbing pain excerbated by even movements as small as yawning, nausea, the works. lost a good amount of sleep thanks to that. i did go to sleep earlier than usual to make up for my previous lack of it, so it's not as bad as it could've been, but i still don't exactly feel great.

i didn't end up leaving work early yesterday, but maybe i will today. i mean, i definitely would not have gone at all if this had happened a few hours later.
